"Ready to rescue Nagappa on Humanitarian ground" -
Pala. Nedumaran [TIS Exclusive]
“Ready to go as an
emissary to rescue Nagappa from Veerappan on Humanitarian ground and for
the sake of good relationship between the people of both Karnataka and Tamil
Nadu States", said Thiru Nedumaran, while he came to POTA court today morning
for the extension of judicial custody. POTA court judge Rajendran extended his
custody
till 24th September.
Nedumaran, a staunch supporter of the outlawed
LTTE, was arrested on August 1 under POTA for convening a conference in the city
in support of the LTTE on April 13 last and making inflammatory speeches. Also
he informed that he did not met Karnataka Chief Minister Thiru S M Krishna at
any time for the transfer of STF IG Kempaiah of Karnataka. Answering to Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister Thiru Nedumaran said this shows the imaginary of Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister.

Nagappa’s wife Parimala: "We alerted the police
at 10 pm, five minutes after the kidnap. But they came only around 1.30 am to
ask us how it happened. Had they come immediately, perhaps my husband could have
been rescued." "Veerappan has only two men with him now—Sethukulli Govindan and
Chandra Gounder. The separatist activities of the Tamil Nadu Liberation Army (TNLA)
and the Tamil Nadu National Retrieval Troops (TNRT) in the forest have also been
wiped out." But when Veerappan descended on August 26 with eight or more men,
the STF was quick to conclude that members of the banned groups were still with
the brigand!-
